Structural Integration

Fascia Therapy

The Rolf Method of Structural Integration (SI) is a deep tissue therapy that works with the fascial structure. Fascia is a connective tissue that gives the body structure. It surrounds every muscle, nerve, vein and organ in the body. Fascia is a very thin transparent and slippery substance. Healthy fascia allows muscles to move freely past and over its surrounding structures.

Stressors such as accidents, falls, sports injuries, mental or emotional, repetitive strains, and poor lifestyle choices can cause the fascia to become dense reducing range of motion and mobility.

Structural Integration is a full body treatment using slow deep strokes that loosens and lengthens fascia relieving restrictions and creating space and lift in the structure and allow our muscles to feel more relaxed and stretch further. By balancing the myofascial (muscles and fascia) system, long-term structural beneļ¬ts result.

What makes Structural Integration different from other treatments?

Structural Integration addresses the imbalances of the fascial system through a 10 session process. By addressing imbalances order is created in the body, bringing the body back into vertical alignment in the field of gravity. by addressing the imbalances of the fascial  the body begins to function with much less effort and people have more energy and less to no pain.

Three things that make this work different from other modalities:
1) We look at and treat the body as a whole, left to right, top to bottom, front to back, inside/outside equal
2) We work with the fascial system
3) We teach neuromuscular retraining exercises which help to retrain the brain and muscle tissue what is structurally correct to assist in maintaining the positive postural changes.

What are the Benefits of Structural Integration?

SI from the feet up works to bring the body back into vertical alignment while horizontalizing the pelvis, freeing up space for energy to move. The net result leaves the body in a better more refined place- slowing down the deterioration process.
After the 10 series of structural integrated the individual will be more adaptable to stress, have increased flexibility, have more fluidity and less effort in movements, increased energy, and greater self-awareness.

For a Healthy and Flexible Body

Who can benefit from Structural Integration?

Anyone (young and old) suffering from :
Scoliosis, TMJ,  Repetitive Strain Injuries, back pain, Muscle Imbalances
Knee pain Chronic Pain , Neck pain, Incontinence Headaches Poor posture Chronic Tension Athletic Injuries, shoulder issues, foot issues
Asthma Hip Pain Shoulder Pain

Is Structural Integration Painful?

Structural Integration aims to keep the body in the parasympathetic nervous rest and digest state as this is were healing takes place. When a person experiences pain the nervous system switches into a sympathetic state, and the body goes into fight or flight mode where no healing can happen.

Does this work last?

Absolutley!!  Years after receiving the basic 10 series work positive changes can still be noted. Sometimes post treatment injuries, accidents, lengthy illnesses, emotional stress or pregnancies may require post treatment tune-up treatments.
